Watchkeeper App — for sailors, by sailors
Privacy Policy

Effective 7 September 2026

The Watchkeeper App (“Watchkeeper”, “we”, “us”) is a watch-scheduling app for boat crews, developed by McCreary Aviation LLC. This policy explains, in plain language, what happens to your information when you use the app. The short version: your information stays on your device, and we never see it.

We don’t collect your data

Watchkeeper has no accounts, no login, and no servers that receive your information. Everything you create in the app — your schedules, vessel details, routes, crew and team names, notes, and any positions you mark — is stored only on your own device. We have no copy, no access, and no way to read any of it. We don’t run analytics, we don’t use third-party trackers, and we don’t show ads.

When you share a schedule, it’s private between you and the person you send it to

Watchkeeper lets you share a watch bill or a storm update with a shipmate — as a QR code, an AirDrop, a message, an email, or a printed page. When you do this:

In other words, sharing a schedule is like handing someone a piece of paper: it goes from you to them, and we’re not in the middle.

Permissions, and why the app asks

Watchkeeper only uses a device feature when you ask it to, and only on your device:

You can change or withdraw any of these permissions at any time in your device’s Settings.

Children

Because Watchkeeper collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children.

Data you delete

Because your information lives on your device, deleting a voyage in the app, or deleting the app itself, removes that information. We hold no separate copy to delete.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top and post the new version at watchkeeperapp.com. Because we don’t collect contact details, we can’t notify you directly — please check back if you’d like to stay current.
